I've made a start on this, along with all the other pieces I've got on the go.
It was a pig to clean up and assemble. But it was worth the effort, as it a superb bit of sculpting.
Still very early days, and I went for a brighter coloured robe to contrast the flesh.

pretty nice start there sir. I'll watch how yours turns out before I commit to buying one myself. Shame to hear about the cleanup, my least favorite part of the whole process, well that and putting them together.

    Thanks for having a look.
It's not that bad Mike. I'm just used to resin, a little scrape with a scalpel, and you good to go.
This needs a bit of wet & dry action, and I've drilled and pinned everything too. Especially the left arm, as it's got that great big bird on it.;) If the question is would I recommend it? Yes definitely.
    Thanks again,
    Carl.(y)

Very nice start Carl. If I may: For my taste the contrast on the skin is to hard.

This looks really good and very promising. As I mentioned in another post regarding whetther or not Zeus was blind, I too have this excellent figure and intend to paint (sometime). But what I had in mind is exactly what you are trying, black hair and red tunic as in the painting of Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, Zeus and Thetis...will follow you closely, and take inspiration of your work...

My friend Carl, it seems a good start but do not know if the final form of miniatures should look contrasts so strongly on this scale.
NET that I have to do some erasures (blending) above to look better yet ...

Thanks again for looking in. The contrast isn't a stark on the actual figure Alexandros, but thanks and I'll have another look.

    Looks real good Carl.
Don't rush to overblend this figure can carry a bit of drama. BTW what are you using for your red.
    Cheers

Hiya Derek, I used Citadel Mechrite Red with a touch or green for the shade. Vallejo Vermilion for the base with scarlet for the highlights.
    Thanks,

I agree with Derek that this will need to be a little dramatic :)
