    Congratulations, Colin, As Tony said above, the base is a
    particularly interesting aspect of this lovely presentation,
    IMHO. The idea of that black "groove" running diagonally
    across the base really works so well with the subject matter.
    My opinion is that White, Black and Red are very difficult
    colours to paint on a figure. And you have done a masterful
    job here, Colin. Very nice. Oh. . . and also the photographs
    are very done, as well. The Miami Jayhawk

    As for the base, a few months ago, while rooting around in the basement for something to use to make bases and found a box of old hockey and lacrsse trophies. Most had a marble base with a 'tower' and a figurine on top. removing the rod between the base and the figure left me with a wood cylinder with a pattern turned into the outer surface. So, router a couple of disc, cut sand and stain the 'towers', stick 'em together and... BANG... bases
