Started this popular bust from Young. I wanted a pale complexion to show fatigue and cold.
Usual dire photos, all comments great received,
    Carl.

    Hey Carl,

I see you have lately started a tradition of painting only the best kits! I am gonna be very wordy here since we are dealing with THIS kit. So pls bear with me :)

    1. Very clever to go for a pale look! Band of Brother would confirm that they were very pale indeed...

    2. How will you approach the nose colour-wise?

    3. Look forward to your rendition of the texture of the great coat.

Oh not that wordy after all...

Great start and will follow almost too closely :D

Thanks a lot chaps. Michael, the coat and scarf have had a spay of 3M Spray Mount to add texture.

This might help people judge the colours Carl:

I like the way you've handled the beard. Skintones look good, maybe a bit more red on the nose? The pouches under the eye could probably do with being a touch greyer.

On the eyes, it looks from the straight-on photo that he might be a bit wall-eyed; the irises might need a bit of evening up and personally I'd also tone down the blue a bit.

Isn't that going to stay sticky?

Isn't that going to stay sticky?

    Einion[/QUOTE]

It would, but you prime over it. You just keep the texture and lose the adhesion.
    Thanks folks,
    Carl.

    Carl,

Looking forward to seeing how that 3M Spray Mount looks! I have the same figure and may want to give it a go.

    Carl,

If you haven't done the M1 rifle yet, you can still add the stacking swivel. I notice that most who have done the figure have not added it.

I've nearly finished this while I talk myself into the dreaded digital camo.
A bit of touching up to do, and to fasten the rifle sling.
    Carl.

Carl, excellent result and great work with the 3M on the coat and scarf, did you also do the effect on the helmet or does it come that way?

    Cheers Ken

Wow mate that was fast work !!! from the initial picture of the head i didnt connect it to this bust, makes a big difference once the helmet is removed from the head.
A real nice finish and the idea of the M3 mount spray worked just fine in my opinion, also agree the wood stock on the garand is very nicely done mate.
