This is another figure that begged to be painted and I have started the process.

After minimal clean up and filing of the seam lines I have pegged the parts to be painted as the assembly process goes forward.

The flesh parts have been base coated with Humbrol #121 and painted in tube oils as I did the Buccaneer.

Thanks Marc for the encouragement. I made some good progress last night and hope to post an update soon.

Guy, I can't wait to see this beauty come together! I need to get over there and see what I've missed here lately! ;)

Thanks Ray.............as usual its done in my dark complexion. Hopefully will post some more progress today.

Great start Guy. It is a fantastic figure not historically accurate but never the less a small gem foa every fanatic with this period.

Can't wait to see more of the progress!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Roman Officer continues with the painted leg assembly being mounted to the base and the groundwork poured around and up underneath his feet. He has been pegged to the base with brass rods.

The groundwork still needs alot of work as I start to assemble the Roman up and attach the waist armor and the chest armor.

His cape is just placed onto the chest armor to see how it is going to look.

Also, while on Vacation, I was able to finish Young's 90mm Roman Officer. A real beauty of a kit to paint and now belongs to a collector.

Thanks for the kind words guys..........I appreciate the feedback

Steve ~ The cape is actually a Prussian Blue with black deep shading and medium blue highlights.

Peter & Maurizio ~ The red leather is done with a base coat of Humbrol red leather followed after drying with a 4 to 1 black wash. After the wash has dried I drybrush the leather with Humbrol red leather with a few drops of white mixed in.

Hope this helps.
