    Hi All,

A new challenge for me, after painting only allied figures I've started with my first German,
Again a old Young miniature sculpture but again it's excellent.

As I was in the flow I didn't make any in progress photos, the Camo on the helmet took me 3 attempts but I'm pleased with the end result.

Excellent work, Martin - I like the way you’ve painted the weave & wear into the cotton duck material of the helmet cover.

Quality job so far Martin. The camo looks very convincing, with a nice faded appearance to the colours. Once you have done one German subject, you will be hooked:LOL: Young Miniatures do one or two I think!

    Hi Martin

This just gets better and better ...I don't think this will be your last camo or German bust

    Looking really good

Always nice to see your art

Why not enter something into FOTM as well as voting in previous months entries

Look forward to more from you

    Happy benchtime

Thnx Nap, I'm not sure about the German stuff. Allied is more my cup of tea.

I've added the last details. My question for you guys is, ammo belt yes or no?

    Hi Martin

That certainly does look good with or without the ammo

Personally I would use it ,the painting on the rounds looks great as does the knife handle

Enjoyed this , look forward to seeing the next from you

    Happy benchtime

    Martin,

Paintwork on the smock is incredible, I like the way you've painted the smock & helmet cover in 2 different patterns to add some variation to the bust.

One minor point, from the style of the Y-straps it looks like they are the tan-coloured webbing version as opposed to the leather (if they were leather there would be a metal stud on the front of the shoulder braces, connecting the assault frame straps which are usually seen hanging down if the assault pack is not used. This stud isn't present on the web Y-straps, the connection is made by stitched webbing as on this bust). The respirator canister strap going diagonally across the chest should be webbing too.

I would definitely add the MG ammunition belt, as you've painted the rounds so well it would be a shame not to showcase them on the bust!

Thanks Nap, I'll use the ammunition belt.

@ Chris, thank you for your comments, my main concern was the pattern of the camouflage, I google a bit for the Y straps and 90% of my finds was leather. The boxart shows webbing but I though I had a bit of choice there :)
Personally I like it this way because I've painted webbings in almost all my other project so that was the reason I painted it this way.

The positive site I that the ammunition belt will cover it.
