    Hi all,

Just finished this bust from Young of a Roman Cavalry Officer.

Painted in acrylics, with Enamel and oils for the metal areas.

    All comments and criticisms welcome.

Edit: These are new pics taken after I re-painted the mistake at the end of the belt that Alex pointed out to me.

    looking great !
May I ask why have u painted the ends of the belt in leather as opposed to your white & purple combo ?
I have a roman bust in the making and still unsure how and which color I will paint this belt

Thanks a lot for the comments Nap, Borek and Alex!

Wow, I didnt even realise I had done that Alex!.... thanks for pointing it out.I think I must have been in a zone when doing the leather and just saw the tassels and did them in leather as well, I didnt even notice they were the end of the belt tucked under it, just thought they were hanging down from the others somewhere.

Well, I know what I will be doing on my day off tomorrow now, re-painting them, LOL!

    Jeff.

Excellent job. The textures (metal, leather, and cloth) all look wonderful, and the face is fantastic .

Nicely painted and the colour tones that you have used work well together to create a realistic result, nice one, what's your next subject.

I had that very same bust on the cutting mat last night lol, I had been painting Young's Roman Aquila and had a brainwave to paint the cloth that is wrapped around the eagle to represent a celt plaid pattern and after 3 weeks of painting and shading wee squares and with no end in sight it melted my head and put me off painting so I turned to the modelling knife to extract my vengeance on Sean Connery lol.
Good luck with the Templar looking forward to seeing him finished.
