    Hi Gents,

My new works since Euro. This is a commission piece so not for keeps ...

This is my third ever bust and difficult for me coming from 1/35th,but a scale id like to master.

Its a great bust and the face is superb to paint ! The owner made a new badge for the beret as the original was a little to big ...

At the minute it is still fairly basic with much to do,painted in oil paint as usual. The eyes and lips have only just been started and the hair and beret need painting. Work on the shading and stubble continue ...

I wanted a cool fresh day kinda' complexion but not Stalingrad !

    Comments welcome

    Thanks

    Carlos

These following images show more shade and highlights added but the images are dark ... still working on the eyes shadows and stubble at present.

The hair has been blocked in to frame the face to check contrast and colours ...

Lovely and smooth Carlos! Is it just the photos or is the right cheek slightly darker than the left?

On the eyes, they're a little divergent. As the irises could do with being a bit larger a relatively easy fix.

    Looks perfect to me!
I presume the eyes are not finished yet? It may be the pictures, but i only see the iris and no pupil yet.
Anyway, the finished parts are looking really well!

A nice start Carlos. Like the skin tones you have used. I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Everything looks spot on. The smoothness of the skin transitions look exceptional.

Hello Carlos, Great looking fleshtones thus far. I know how you feel about going from 1/35th to larger scales. I remember how challenging it was just to go to 120mm. Best of luck with your British Tanker. Regards, SG(y)

Managed to get some more time on this tonight. Put some areas right as above and also added final highlights and worked more on the low lights ... The eyes have also had the coloured part blocked in as well as the lips and hair.

What do you guys think of the contrast now ? I think its about right to my taste at this scale ... but allways good to hear your feadback etc ;)

    Many thanks

    Carlos

Had to use the flash on the camera this pm and it has enhanced the red areas quite a bit but its ok in the flesh.
