Because I'm an old fella now, and was up early to work my Saturday, it's bedtime. Which means bedtime reading, with this gem from Gettysburg Library's book sale.
I cannot overstate how much this subject pushes my buttons, and what an excellent writer Stephen Sears is/was (?).

Given your interest in Gettysburg two of the best book I have read on the campaign are:
Edwin B. Coddington. The Gettysburg Campaign: A Study in Command ; and
Kent Masterton Brown. Meade at Gettysburg: A Study in Command.

The first is an old classic (published 1964) that tops several lists of the best 10 books on Gettysburg, while the second was published in 2021, meticulously researched and corrects several myths about Meade.

Not yet, waiting on some Scale 75 paints from Element Games before starting my next project, a step out of my comfort zone, but I will. I'm deep into a bottle of wine right now, for medicinal purposes you understand. My Granddaughter, both my sons and an unexpected visit by a couple of mates has sent my day sideways, will try and remember tomorrow.

Shading at last..!
Trimmed the front garden hedge whilst the conservatory warmed up in the sunshine, then finally sat down with Jazz FM and commenced work on Billy-boy with the first session of basic shading (left trouser leg - and it ain't turquoise, whatever impression this photo might give).

Feeling a few Pennsylvania withdrawal symptoms today.

Looking good David, it's odd how the camera changes thing, they used to say the camera never lies, well not anymore.
