Very interesting find and some of those weapons just look like they need a good clean. The wooden plugs show the desperation of the struggle.

Don't know Rog I don't think it is, it looks like a giant coat hanger! Possibly some sort of small arms gun mounting?

That was my other thought Steve, an elevation thingumy for a machine gun mount.

Some of them Russians are big blokes

Having looked at the other photos I think it is a hanger, the straight length of wood is also part of it.

Interesting reading and the firearms are very well preserved, wonder if they have been submerged in deep mud.
