    Hi Frederick,

You are very welcome my friend.

Could you please tell me what Polystone is like to sculpt with?

I presume it's some type of polymer resin material, but I have not heard of it before.

    Polystone

    Dear Tony:
POLYSTONE solid surface material (colloquially called artificial stone) is divided into

Acrylic Modified (UP) type and 100% Acrylic solid surface (MMA) type. UP type is a kind of

high-grade core decoration material manufactured through the vacuum casting and high-

temperature polymerization of special no-saturation resins, acrylics, aluminum hydroxide

    powder and palettes.

I just have have this information.

Wow Frederick, I didn't understand any of that mate!!

Please, could you post a photo of the material labels so I can see what you're describing.

It sounds like something NASA invented!!

I think you can find more information in google.com
We no need to understand the chemical material.
Basicly, it 's some liquid before and when fix change to solid stone.:)

Tony: Polystone is polyester filled with 'stone' powder. Mainly used in decorative arts. Looks like stone, as heavy and as hard to work with.

Frederick: Welcome to the Planet and keep on the good work.

    Cheers,
    Quang

    Hi Tony,
Polystone is a filler powder. It's used to to give an artificial appearence. This is usually added to polyester resin, polyester carries the powder better than PU. You can buy all manner of filler powders to give different finishes. From various metals bronze, aluminium, brass, stainless etc. you could, many years ago buy German silver which is sort of a nickle based powder. But this is illegal now but it give a great finish. Also stone fillers Granite, marble etc.

nice work there mate! :) very clean lines and good anatomy, well done .

    regards ---Tim

( tony, Polystone is not a Sculpting medium, but a Casting Medium, common in Dental Labs (for casting up impressions the Dentist takes of your mouth -where i used it- and used in the collectables industry because it gives good resolution and a smooth finish. its fairly cheap to buy and a good option if you want to avoid resins ( which i guess you naw have to) , easy to mix and pour requiring only Vibration to realese trapped airbubbles. --regards --tim :) )
