Just some impressions of a just on going work of a vignette of three Waffen SS soldiers. The leading warrior has to make contact with own troops, before coming nearer round the corner.

the first steps for shading and highlighting are finished. Now I think the details of the equipment of the figures have to be done and some extra rubble to make a more realistic base.

Here the first steps for colouring the base:

... and the figures in a pre-fitting test:

    Now some views:

    Hi George!

Nice vignette and superb camoflage on the smocks. Also like the shading on the field grey.

Youve mentioned the raised hand of the leader and changing it. When your raising your arm like that the shoulder goes up as well. The other shoulder sink a bit in this motion but not as much as the raised one goes up.
Also I believe the same figure would look better if the neck was shortened a bit.

    Keep it up. :)

You are right. I will have to redo the layout of the figure to keep the amount of work in an acceptable level :( or make another one...

This is always hard to chose. Is the change important enough to go through all the trouble and work involved to change it?

Sometimes it is and sometimes not. Its all up to you. I usually dont when I consider a piece finnished but I learn from the mistake and dont the same on following projects. Also I find it frustration to work to long on the same piece.

    Cheers.
