Sodele - let's go to the hands of Vladimir Semyonovich!

As far as cleanup work is concerned, only a tiny amount of cast residue on the left hand...

... which is quickly removed with the scalpel ...:

In the roots of both hands, I drill at two later invisible places holes:

Then the hands - as usual with me - cleaned in the ultrasonic bath ...

... dried in the sun ...

... with toothpicks and some "UHU" adhesive fixed on corks and primed ...:

A short word about the quality of the sculpt: Top class they are structured, the little grippers ...:

I just finished the painting of the hands!

Since they are supposed to be darker than the face, I have also darker underpainted them with acrylics ...:

After drying of the underpainting (that's fast!) I painted the tiny hands with these colors ...:

I've tried very hard to achieve a not quite "clean" and "finished" impression.

    Unfortunately still shines a lot...:

Voilà - these were the last parts of the beautiful bust!

    Now I could start assembling.

But I do not, because ...

Nice hands Martin .....be interesting to see how they look when Oils have dried

Patience waiting to dry is certainly something you have !!

Do you ever use a matting agent line Dulcote ?

Wondering what your thinking of for the base ?

And....what the next will be on your bench ?

    Thanks for sharing

While Vladimir Semyonovich's hands are still drying, I have invested my current hobby time in research!

I chose a miniature speaker as a pedestal for the bust.

The picture shows that on the small cube with the edge length 5 cm still relatively much place is ...:

So it makes sense to build a gimmick, which also comes on the pedestal.

And what would a singer be without - a microphone!

And since it is a Soviet artist, it should also be a microphone from Soviet production!

Only: Was there something and - if so - which one do I take ...?

First, of course, there were such things, for the Soviet people did not live in caves and had excellent engineers! There were even two competing manufacturers, "Ломо" ("Lomo") and "Октава" ("Octava")!

In particular, the "Lomo" products sold well in the West, because they could not only keep up qualitatively with Western products, but sometimes even transfer them.

And the prices demanded by the Soviet Union were unrivaled!

Now Vladimir Semyonovich has sung in his career in thousands of different microphones - were also "Lomo" and "Oktava" products including?

So I did not paint today, but I did more researches.

And there are uncommonly many photos of Wyssotskij, which show him with a very specific microphone whose design looks at least unusual for western eyes ...:

Also in the Vysotsky Museum (3, Nizhny-Tagansky Tupik | Taganskaya Metro Station, Moscow 109004) ...

... in which, among other things, his beloved "Mercedes" is on display...

    ... there is such a microphone ...:

Vladimir Semyonovich seems to have had a certain preference for this thing - although there are photos of him on which he uses Western high-price products, for example, "Sennheiser" from Germany or "AKG" from Austria uses.

Many, many mouse clicks later, I finally had a picture revealing the type of microphone I am looking for:

It is a Soviet "Lomo", type 82A-5M ...:

And fortunately, I found this picture that reveals the measurements ...:

I'll build such a thing next week! As a gimmick for the pedestal ...

So - then I want to go again!

Today's topic: We start to make a microphone.

    First step:

The main body is kneaded from "Fimo", "core" of the whole is a toothpick ...:

    Second step:

The little "Fimo" loop is baked in the oven ...:

Meanwhile, I braid by metal weave the microphone head - and a hand of Vladimir Semyonovich is always available as a size comparison ...:

I bought this weave in the gray past times, to build a - never realized - battleship, from this I wanted to make the rolled-up torpedo nets.

The "stitches" are not quite to scale, I know!

But I would like to buy nothing, but on the contrary reduce the content of my "Oddment-Locker" a little - otherwise I'll l not get it closed sometime!

After baking the polymer clay part of the wire mesh head with two-component adhesive attached to it ...:

    The main body is ready!

    Cheers

    Looking great.
Question...what liquid goes into the ultrasonic cleaner?

Only water with one drop of dishwashing liquid (to dissolve the fat residues).

Thanks, gonna get me one. Done with the water-soap-toothbrush work. How long must it take a bath ?

My ultrasound device only has one program, which spends about six to eight minutes, I press the button - and wait for it to finish.
