Here are the LOUSY pics of the work in progress re Rhodes Hospitaller :(

With all the "professional" lighting rig I have, I'm still a "non league" photographer :(

Anyway, I hope that you manage to see a bit beyond the CRAPPY pics

    Hello Ray,

    Beautiful job as usual:)
The pictures aren´t so bad, but the work is better:D
Aside, this 12 of September I celebrate my 11th wedding anniversary, honey moon was passed in your marvellous country, where I found nice people, good food, good sea, someday i´m gonna return to go one more time to Gozo Island and your beautiful capital La Valleta...

    Cheers

Looking very good.Love the armour. Not being an expert myself with photography it might be your lighting of the figure that is a bit strong. On saying that,i reckon the pictures are not bad at all.

Nonsense dear chap, I think your shots are just perfect, well better than what I can achieve - figure, I get close up to the 54mm on macro and all is blurred, all is not what it seems old friend!:( I like what you have achieved so far, looking forward to the completed piece.

    Thanks for posting. RobH.;)

Excellent work Ray. Casting isssues aside it amazes me that you dont see many of these on the forums, its a stunner of a kit and still holds its own against the newer releases. Hardy

    Looks great to me.
Would really like to see him at Euro.

For the pictures: reduce your lightsource trough set the lights further away from the figure, or use a white cloth to reduce it.

Ken, John, Carl, Brian, Rob, Marc, Stefano, Costas, David, Steve, Stephen, Marcel thank you all for looking and you overly praise.........much appreciated.

Pedro thank you as well, but I won't forgive you for not contacting me before you came to Malta, and you would have paid a visit to our club......we could have showed you around a bit as well

Hardy, as you said it is a stunning kit and really held/holds his ground with today's releases!!!

Karsten how are you my friend? Are you coming to Euro? Here is what I do with the metal........
I polish the white metal with a fine grade steelwool, then I paste the area with Mars Black W&N Oils. I remove the excess almost to nothing especially on the uppermost areas.....I just leave a very very thin film of paint, enough to make the etching/scratches work/show on the pasted metal. This is done while the paint is wet and with a hypodermic needle as I find the chisel shape works much better then just a round pointed needle. When all is dry I revisit the recesses with Lamp Black W&N Oils and feather accordingly. After this process dries, I add random spots of rust with Purple Madder Alizarin and feather them to merge with the metal.........

Jason thank you as well........the sheild cover is lead sheat from wine bottles's necks :D (nice English eh) :D which I glued in place and as you can expect, I made the tears and cuts myself.

    Ray ;)
