Nicely done Sara, I've always had a thing for Dickensian figures as years ago I did a series of reliefs based on old cigarette cards.
    Best wishes, Gary.

Lovely work there Sara. I too think the painting style is remarkable and innovative. It gives the idea of crushed velvet as the hat and coat material under a full sun.

Very nice... unique take on this popular figure.
I agree with Marty, looks just like rich velvet reflecting the light.

    Very kool

BTW Sara, why is it called " Why Roxanne?" ?
  14. saruxaxa Active Member

Because he is dating with a prostitute called roxanne. And because her, he is been looking by the police (in the figure, he is on a alley of the brothel (can-can) waiting for her to ask for explanations , and you can see a wanted poster)

Hi Sara, is this the Spanish version of Oliver Twist because as Dickens wrote the story, the girl was called Nancy, and her murder was based on a real case that was in the papers at the time? I hope you don't mind me asking?
    Best wishes, Gary.:)

Oh! I don´t use the real story of dickens. Just use the miniature for a different prupose.

Well whatever the story, it's beautiful work! I've always had a fascination for Dickens as about forty odd years ago, my father sculpted a series of Dickens figures in 60 mm
