They are also wearing gaiters over their boots, so infantry. Maybe glider troops.

    Thanks, Henk.
I agree, I don't want to get too carried away with the shadows and highlights, keep em subtle. Reviewing the below historical photo does confirm some AB boys did wear specs. This is the sculptor's insprational photo used for this initial set of figures.

Thanks, Helm. I agree, he's going to get a good work over before all is said an done. I think you are right about that, just a tad more.

Age of one looks like a sergeant or warrant officer who has seen a lot, the other with glasses perhaps a captain IMO...

Rifles should be strapped to their legs, they aren't going to jump, just training

I also agree, again. Hank is the ranked Big Dog during this encounter with such an unfortunate Jerry, lol. Good point!

Jason, Pete, but the fact remains, the main photo shows specs, so we're good, ya? Yall know how tough it can be to work a set of figures that might not be up to speed historically, but I personally think this one is good to go. Common, Bro's, this ain't Tartans, Bahahaaaaaaaa!:D:eek::sick: Sorry Mates, I had to throw that slight in there, HA!

Some of them are also wearing gaiters.... That was an Infantry thing was it not? Could they be Glider borne troops and not actual paras?

Sorry for the delay in answering this, Egg, oops! No, the sculpt is Air Borne, there aren't any gators in the above photo that I see, just bloused boots. And of course, some of the guys are probably too tired to blouse their boots, lol.

Hey, no worries Steve! Was meaning these guys.... :) those are gaiters like regular GI's would have worn?

    Cheers!!

I think Egg is refering to the colour picture on the first page, of the emplaned GIs, some of who are wairing gaiters, as wel as life jackets, and no 'chutes, which makes it more likely they are in a glider.
But all that is enjoyable picture interpretation, but ulimately irrelevant. Your figures are excellent, and we have proof of at least one Para with glasses already....:D.

If I may, another quick aside with the photo above here (paras with the flag). I love the Para on the right, holding the machette...
Imaging being the German soldier, contemplating the bad sausage you had for dinner last night, and the door opens....:ROFLMAO:
