    Hi Guys ,

Currently working on W01 (GSM) Mott from Mitches , the one with the bearskin being held up ......

With the wonderful help from El Jimbo he is now holding his forage cap ...my question is

Was there any piping around the top part ..and

Did the Welsh guards brush their cap tops in any particular fashion ie in quarters or halves or straight across etc

    Any help would be welcome

    Hi Kev.

My limited knowledge of the Taffs is No pipping around the top part of the hat. and it would be brushed straight down from front to rear.

    Mick ,

Despite the fact you are better looking that's great , that picture scares me ! ...

No piping and brushed downwards it is

Just as a matter of interest how would you paint the staybrite cap badge and buttons ??

    Cheers

The forage cap buttons are "stay bright" but I think his badge is brass. Just about everyone in the guards buys there own brass badge.

    Hi Kev,

Remember as well that the end of the leek badge sits on top of the strap as you can see clearly in the picture of Billy at work.
