Hi all, this is my first foray into sculpting, I’ve put this chap together from bits of miniart tanker. I’m happy with the pose, I think my next job is to strip down the upper arms and add creases with putty. Then I need to think about hair.

What do you all think? Any suggestions/issues you can see so far?

A great effort, Stefan. The tension in the fabric around the knees is spot on. This is a very tricky job, as that pose is far from easy. The arms a bit on the 'fat' side, but as you say, you're about to work on them, so it's hard to criticise. From my experience in sculpting, It really is a case of constantly asking yourself, "Is this right?" Always turn your work around as you're doing it. You're doing a pretty good job so far.

    Hi Stefan

It's good to see something like this being shown , like the pose on him , head position looks suitably tired

Not sure if he's having gaiters at top of boots but if not I would suggest opening up the trousers ends to show a bit of the lower leg

    Following with interest

Looking good so far, for me the ankles look to be at an awkward angle, may be the foot wants to be angled up more at the toe end. Try the pose yourself and if you can do it so can the figure, it's a pretty good frame of reference. Agree with Blind Pew re the arms, if you're going to add creases the bulk needs trimming down a bit.

Hi all, I'm afraid life has got in the way of hobbies for the last little while and I've been off social media a bit. I've made a some progress on this chap and the vignette he will be a part of. I ended up thinning down the left arm and built it up with magic sculpt (which is definitely better than green stuff for that sort of work). I'm reasonably happy with the way the figure turned out, although I still struggle with the relatively shallow details you get on plastic figures as opposed to resin.

Looks good, nice conversion and yes Magicsculpt is far easier to work than Greenstuff. It's going to be a nice poignant scene when complete.

    Hi Stefan

Good to see the update , this sad loss of the tankers crewmate adds a lot to the scene

    Look forward to seeing more

    Have fun at the bech
