The M1888/15 Austro-Hungarian army water container or canteen (for us USA types) was inadequate as to volume of water it held and being made of glass and covered in thin cheap metal (tin?) didn't stand up to field wear and tear. Nonetheless the army didn't change it during the Great War. In 1903 they prototyped an all metal pear shaped version, but it never went into production.
