    Hi to all

Legion Miniatures continues to provide a variety of subjects to tempt our wallets , this time we have gone into the future , a post time where the air is poison and all are fighting just to survive not only in the underground sewers but on the streets...

    A nightmare APOCALYPTIC time

This is the figure we will look at

    xxxxx.jpg

Perhaps the figure was inspired after watching this film or something similar

    Details of the release:

    Title: Warrior of the Apocalypse

As always packing is not any issue with the resin in clear bags with bubble wrap around and packed between foam layers top and bottom of a laser cut box

On the box top a uncoloured picture as above with one of the sides having a couple of other views view

xxxxx.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 001.jpg

Contents consist of 16 parts , main torso and legs , head , 2 arms , 2 weapons ( one with a cast on hand , 7 pieces of equipment and a hose, plus a base

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 002.jpg

This scale of 120mm will please those its a large figure and the details are all there more visible to the modeller , making prep and painting much easier and less tiring on the eyes

The figure depicts a warrior fully kitted up , carrying a weapon with another at his side next to a backpack

Lets have a couple of pictures of the figure from the website

Lets look at the resin now

    Prep

Main figure...Remove casting lines on inside of legs and excess resin on boots

Head...Remove resin post and casting line and fit to torso

Arms...Remove casting excess and fit ...slight skim if filler needed

Equipt...Remove from formers , slight sanding

Backpack...Cut away block of excess resin from rear and fit in position

Weapons...Take away the formers and fit ...minimal filler needed

Base: Take off casting excess and sand around

    Onto the resin

    Main Figure

Consisting of full upper body with the 2 legs , with fitment points for the head and the arms , the left lef to the fore

Wearing long trousers with high ankle boots together with a protective vest on the upper

The work on the trousers is very well sculpted with good folds and creases and some tears and worn area's , the pockets are bugling and well shown , nice definition on the seams both here and down the side centre of each leg

The boots are ankle high and has some very good details sculpted on them , particularly he various sections of the boot and the sole is also very well done with good shaping on the underside , the lacing is another area thats good to look at .... all are well cast and sharply done , making painting easier

The upper jacket is open at the upper thighs with a belt around the waist , good undercuts , the protective vestis well sectioned , of note is the work on all the straps running over the body , very well shown and cast

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 003.jpg

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 009.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 007.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 005.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 013.jpg

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 004.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 006.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 008.jpg

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 010.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 011.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 012.jpg

    Head

There is no flesh showing as the head is wearing a respirator , with rounded lens , very nicely shaped , the lower part fitting tightly to the face shape with a fitment point for the hose

The head itself is wearing a hood and this is very well cast considering the scale , the hood material has of course folds and creases with the neck area having a roll topped jumper

Impressive that the painter is able to get easy access to the mask itself

Fit to torso is clean and needing only a tiny bit of filler

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 015.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 014.jpg

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 016.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 017.jpg

    Arms

The left holds the haversack when this is put onto the figure ( obviously dry fit before fitting the arm), the long sleeved has the cuffs pulled tightly together with what would probably be a velcro strip , nice sharp undercuts , the glove is well formed with knuckle protectors sculpted onto the glove itself, on the sleeve to a blank badge patch ...allowing a individual design or maybe a rank

The right is hanging down with the same details except the badge on the upper sleeve has a design on it , no hand on this part

Both arms have wear and tear , including stitching repairs ...nice touch

Onwards to the remainder of the pieces:)

    Equiptment

These consist of various attachments to add to the figure including a combat knife , a radio , smaller pouches , a haversack , backpack and the end for the hose and a very nice container with a radioactive sign on it , the hose is also to be added

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 021.jpg As you can see shaped to fit into position well , with fitment posts at each end

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 022.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 023.jpg

Sharp undercuts and casting on these ...note: Radioactive sign

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 024.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 025.jpg

Again 2 nicely shaped pouches , shaped to fit easily and again sharply cast

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 026.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 027.jpg

Great details on the knife and the radio/geiger counter perhaps

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 028.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 029.jpg

The haversack good shaping and I like the easy fit to the torso with minimum filler where straps meet , the flap is raised around the edging , I recommend fitting this before the arm ( dryfit first both )

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 030.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 031.jpg

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 032.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 033.jpg

The backpack shows good strap work with a bedroll being held under the flap which has stitching added by the sculptor, in place it loks the parts especially with the weapon running down the rightside

    Weapons

2 are provided one fits to the backpack side the other has a gloved hand holding it the forefinger sitting along the top of the trigger guard

The details on both weapons are very good and again well cast , the one that fits to the backpacck has a snipers sight fitted with a cut out stock as we see on today's high powered rifles

The one held in the gloved hand has no sight but has a high powered torch in place in front the magazine , the weapon is similar in shaping to a AK47 , with a angled magazine fitted

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 034.jpg
Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 036.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 035.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 037.jpg

    Base

Legion have been clever here in that the underside dug out , reducing the resin used , the base is nicely sculpted as a pavement , scattered with debris , loose slabs and with possibly electric cables , on the edge there are 2 other pipes ...vital power supplies or water ....there is splits and damage on the upper pipe that runs alongside the road...nice small detail

Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 038.jpg Legion Warrior of the Apocolypse 039.jpg

    Final thoughts

A good figure and one that offers plenty of painting options , needless to say Legion have continued to give the modeller what they want ...no matter what their interest genre.
Sculpting and casting well up to the Legion standard as is the overall presentation
