Bit embarrassed to ask this as The War of the Roses is a quite important part of English history. However, I know nothing about it and wondered if someone could recommend a book that will help me get a feel for the history without delving too deep into the nitty gritty. Just something to get me to the point where I could start digging deeper if it takes my fancy.

I think, could be wrong, that the osprey books are more about the uniforms etc. Not really looking at it from a painting perspective, I just really want to learn about the period. I suspect the second two books could be more towards that.

    Thanks for the info (y)
