Well, another new project. And again a machine gunner! I love machine gunners)
I will slowly paint and gradually show the results.
    And then we'll see..

First, I painted the helmet and tried to give it a cloth effect, a little wiped out. Something like this...

    Hello Dimitry,

very interesting thread, which I will watch closely.

sorry to say, but You also made the same mistake as seen on the box art (and as I did also before). The helmet cover, as the sculptor did sculpt it, is showing the autumn side, not the spring side.

I posted my finished bust here in the Forums and did a short explanation why.

I am sure You can do the autumn side as good as you did the spring side.

    Kind regards
    Robert

Little progress on the Waffen SS 1944 machine gunner from Young Miniatures. Painted his face, but not to the end yet, need to do hair, eyebrows, helmet strap and other little things. But I put a helmet on it) In general, I hope it turned out well. photo_2022-01-10_22-42-41.jpg photo_2022-01-10_22-42-43.jpg photo_2022-01-10_22-42-42.jpg

So,..........what have you been painting that has exposed such talent to the rest of us? Your work does not portray a beginner, so please expand upon this if you will. I can only imagine if you're a canvas artist, your talent proceeds you, imho, and most pleasing it is.

    Cheers, Ski.

I'll be honest-I can't draw at all, absolutely nothing. I have no idea how to do it in principle. But for some reason, I somehow manage to paint figures. I do not understand how) I try to develop this skill..

    Hello!
Yes, I was just trying something new for myself in painting, made it a little more contrast.
    I like the result)
In the next works, I will try and hone new things.
    Thanks for the kind comment!

Hi! A little progress on the figure Waffen SS Young Machine Gunner 1944 from Young Miniatures . Tried to do the illusion of shabby fabric on the anorak.
And a little bit of everything. Still need to finalize the torso of course. We still need to paint belts, buckle, add change on shoelaces, sweater collar, etc.
This is still an intermediate result. Because of the scarf the figure looks with a fair share of humor and lightness)
    Like it turns out quite well[IMG] photo_2022-01-16_14-42-36.jpg photo_2022-01-16_14-42-36 (2).jpg
