I really enjoyed painting this bust, although nowhere near as good as most who post on here.

It may be the lighting, but I believe you could use some additional shadows and highlights. Not much just a tad. Also, and this may be an issue with the sculpt I don't really know, but the dark green background on the breast eagle seems lacking on the lower parts. The waffenfarbe ( the arm of service color on the epaulettes ), is also not complete. Beyond these little details you have done a fine job (y)!
Perhaps Colin will chime in with some help as he has thoroughly researched this subject on another thread.

I really think that the flesh is very well done, not over done but has a natural feel to it. As mentioned by Joe, the greens need a bit more shadowing to bring out the material effect. One quick fix up would be the hard line from the wash under the eagle insignia on his right chest, and top button, it stands out a bit too much for me
    Great work

Thank you for the kind feedback, but there are a lot of things I could have done better, which I will take with me on my next project.

I think this is a really nice example of the Cruise version. It is a clean job with limited shading - nothing wrong with that. The too tight green backing under the Swas is a sculpt issue. Epaulettes look good to me. The waffenfarbe colour could be a brighter crimson pink. The green colour should perhaps be darker. On the actual uniform, the silver lace is not very metallic....almost looking dull linen in colour. But that is all nit picking. I think this is a very respectable example.
