    Hi all,
This is my latest completion, it's the Viking bust from Castle miniatures. I haven't put as much shadow into the cape as I should have but I'm relatively pleased with the rest of the painting. As always it's all painted in acrylics. Comments and critique are always welcome and thanks for looking.

I think he's great, Andrew, just as these guys probably looked. I doubt they had much fabric color choices back then:ROFLMAO:

This looks good Andrew, nice to see this sort of thing done with colours that were more likely in the period. Face looks great.

If I can judge properly from the photos I think the shadowing is fine (dark enough for the scale and the way it's sculpted), it's the highlights that need to be looked at. A touch more highlighting would really lift it I think.

    Missed this one Andy.
Maybe some black wash on the chainmail would help give it some depth?
I agree with you on the cape, some more contrast would look great.
Those eyes look superb, the fur is also extremely well done and I like the ruddy complextion.
Your progress for painting is remarkable.
