I'm working on this vignet. Originally I planned a two figure base. But now I'm confused. Maybe one figure only will do.
With one figure on it, it's almost finished.

The second figure I'm still working on him.

Would like to hear your opnion: One or two figures on it. :)

Rob, now I've seen the other guy looking through his binos, I'd vote for adding him in as the one figure looks a bit lost just having a smoke.
    BTW great painting and groundwork.
    Cheers Ken

I think it would work better with 2, but it would be better if they were interacting somehow, and not each doing their own thing. I do kinda like the lone figure, sort of a quite moment of contemplation. Maybe if there was a cat or a bird or something that he was looking at would fill out some of the empty space.

    Hi Rob,
Going against the grain here but I think this figure on its own really has something about it that may be lost by adding another. The groundwork is superb and the space didnt feel empty but just drew me in to focus on what this soldier is thinking about.
Look forward to seeing what you do.
    cheers
    Mat

Great work, but I vote with the consensus and put my money down on two figures. Let us know what you decide!

I know everyone always says odd numbers for composition, but I'd add the second one.

Rob, one figure is lost into the base. But it gives more drama on his desperate look.
Two is one to much I think, but it give's more drama.
I think you must decide yourself; what is looking more pleased for your eyes??

Hi to you all. It's fantastic to receive some many reactions. And the result of the jury is.....

    two figures.
Herewith the first impression. Now I've only to add some pigments on boots and groundwork and then I'll start another project.

Just wonderful...great basework. I like a figure coming up the stairs, asking a question... something like that. "Is she undressed yet"?
    Just kidding...well done.
