Not something I would buy personally but it might appeal to some i guess. Very depressing!

Sculpting looks very good on both

.....but not the best chosen title for the full figure release for sure

Obviously based on the fabulous film

Not for me with or without legs , I feel the full figure is better less aggressive

    Some might like it though

If he's rescuing the girl then fine... but judging from the photo it seems to have a darker backstory (which isn't).

BTW: if it's intended to replicate the photo then the girl's face is all wrong (too long/old and what looks like a 'pixie' ear).

The photo was suggested by Martin, not by the sculptor. The scene is altogether different (grabbing the girl at the waist instead of the neck, the way the gun is pointing and bizarrely the watch having the wind button on the wrong side). Definitely not a photo I'd feel comfortable working after. I'll pass on the figures as well but as Nap says, some might like them.

And so we have two new categories of figures:

"Naps" (busts) and "Antinaps" (all other) ...

I know this is from a film and as such fictional but to me it is just in bad taste. Sorry but that is how I see it

As much as I enjoyed the film, I think that the whole "Platoon" thing has been done to death really. Vietnam War figures are relatively scarce in our hobby - and probably half of what is available are based on that one movie! Do something more original, more imaginative and historical - less of the Hollywood stuff. It's not as if there's a shortage of potential subjects.

Agree with Neil's comments above re. the girl's face.

Am firmly in the group of “ we don’t need this”..it’s not that I am avoiding difficult material, although when executed in miniature it can be very hard to do ..but rather that I am much more in favour of say Scientific models attempting to deal with child labour, rhino poaching..this one doesn’t even do justice to the film

Now that is a good idea. Provided of course that the fit is good with the intended matching top halves.

Having served with the 101st Airborne in Viet Nam...the movie Platoon was a compilation of stereotypical vignettes...many of which were not stereotypical...such as the scene shown here. The movie was a disservice to us all. The full figure would be nice if the .45 was holstered and he was holding a small child. That happened more often then the gun to the head bit.
Technically...an accurate sculpt of US equipment and Berenger face.
