    Hey Ed!

Looks great! What did you use for the base?

Thnx Alex. It's an old Alhambra piece, if I'm not mistaken, I had laying around for years.

Ed, can I ask what you used to give the rippling effect with the water?

Nice staging for a nice figure. The water is great but the sea colours of the jetty are also cool.

Thank you all for the nice comments. David...all I did for the water was to paint the plaster base with a mixed shade of aqua and white oils then cover it with some clear gloss. The moving water is really just the white oil paint being made to look rough.
I did that base like 13 years ago but my figs back then were terrible not to say they are that good now.

I particularly like your rendition of the stonework and the rusty iron ring, very realistic. The marine is also very well executed, my only criticism is that the size of the base overpowers the figure a bit, my eyes were drawn to the iron ring rather than the marine, but there's not much you can do about that

    Looks really good Ed...

I'd really like to have a closer look at this in Long Island. Very nice piece!

Thank you all. I agree the base does overpower the figiure but what can you do?
Thnx Danno. The painting cam eout ok. White is a tough color and the figure itself is not a prime detailed piece.
