At last, after a forthnight since I started painting it, Tartan is ready :( :D

I am a slow painter by all means and this Cameron of Erracht made me go super slow :(
I'm sure that if I had weaved it for real it would have taken me far less time :) but I'm quite pleased with the result

Anyway, this is what my meagre mortal fibres streched to the limit could produce, and for once, after soooooo many LOUSY pics, I can let the not so lousy pics do the talking :D

    Warmest regards to all.

    Ray ;)

    Hi Ray,

Lovely work with difficult colours in spite of which you have made the contrasts work well...all very subtle. I admire both your skill..and patience!
Look forward to your posting the finished figure.

    Fabulous Ray,
I know what you are going trough. Started this weekend a Celtic figure and tryed to paint equal squares. Well that stressed me.
You may stressed alot more with all those thinny lines.

Beautiful work Ray! What I like the most is the fact that you even managed to make it look woven with just the slightest bit of "sketchyness" to the line work. That sounds bad, but I mean it in the best way!

Fantastic brush work. I am really amazed whit the result taht you have achieved. I looks like a true textile to me. How to hell did you painted that lines, they certainly don´t look like painted in one full line, but there are spaces to indicate the sewed lines, genial Ray..my compliments,
    R.L.

excellent rendition of the 'bully beef' tartan. I know from my own experience what a difficult one it is to paint, well done

The tartan is amazing. two weeks is totally justified. I won't be able to come up with this for two months.

Your work on the tartan is a victory Ray - I've rarely seen it painted so well. It really looks like it's woven, and not printed on the surface, bravo!

I'm doing lots of Scots/Irish and British ancient figures...need to paint tartans all over the place...
