I hear ya' Had to work on some swirls myself and finally got most of them under primer. I had to use a little filler at the arms and waist. Not much though.

    Hi Bob

I feel for you mate , these print lines that can occur are the thing that puts me off 3D sometimes ...

Seems to be occurring on this figure looking at Pete’s comments

Do hope you allow this fellow to escape the SOS

Look forward to seeing more on this and the next project

    Nice progress Bob, looking good.
Disappointed to hear about the swirls, that's not good. I'm expecting delivery of mine this morning.
The Mrs has bought it for me as an anniversary present, I'm sure she'll let me have a sneak peak.

That's not good to hear, such a shame as I was well impressed with your progress.
Mine has arrived and after a quick sneak peak, mine looks to be a casting rather than a 3d print.
I'll try and have another look later, when my Grandad duties are over.. and before the Mrs hides it away for a month.
Keep going, this is such a nice figure its well worth doing, and I know you'll make a cracking job of it.

I should be able to recover this, let's see what a dunk in the bath does.

You could try Mr Surfacer. It’s an alkyld based undercoat and comes in various grades 500-1500. The lower the number the thicker the coat. Very popular with aircraft and armour modellers.

I’ve just ordered this figure having read your first review. It’s a Limited Edition based on the famous Bill Horan figure produced by El Greco’s own range I believe.

I’ll be v interested to see how my copy looks!

El Greco is an excellent company and I’d be very surprised if they didn’t try to rectify any defects in their own product.

    Hello Chris,
Kindly note that this is not from the El Greco range. The model is produced by the Artist Preservation Group. We import it directly from the USA from APG. El Greco has no involvement at all in the production and casting of this product. However we will advise APG of the issues being discussed here.
Coincidentally we have just received the 90mm version of this product.
    Regards,

Sorry to hear of your issues with respect to the printing artifacts. Sadly this is an unfortunate issue with 3D printing although it is improving all the time. The likes of El Greco do some serious post processing of the figures but that is not the norm in all cases. The best way forward is a filler/plastic putty and a fine abrasive. Mr Surfacer can be used in the same way, as can resin which can be cured with UV light. I think Green Stuff World do something like this. With all options I find I still need to process the filled bits to blend them in. Some times I have had to iterate this process a number of times until I'm happy I've caught them all. Even then it's usually only when I finally put on a top coat when I find one I've missed.....
Keep at it Bob, it'll be worth it in the end

That's one of those figures I would buy, even if not one of my main areas of interest... but I'm a little put off by the printing lines problem.

There were swirls but easily dealt with, as were the small dots of resin, It was no problem but some swirls didn't show up till the undercoat process but again no problem to deal with.
It really is a superb figure and the face paints it's self.
Mine was the cream coloured resin.
He is on track to be finished soon.
