Thanks Quang but it is Maddox not me. In fact, I may have screwed up my part. We will see this weekend as I cut the mold.

Matt, check your email. I don't think I have your address so sent you one through the forum's facilities.

    John,

It always takes some talent to make the right choice.

    That is beautiful.

Was it done in toy wax/Castaline?

Wow, That is one nicely sculpted bust. just how big is it any way? And when can I get one?
  11. JohnLea New Member

Quang, again not me. Dutch Allen suggested it.

Seth, I am not the guy to answer however, I think it started as Castilene but only as part of a recipe. I know that Jim has been frustrated by the Castilene he has been getting over the past few months and has taken steps to change it in some way.

CorySF, I show my ignorance here. IIRC, Jim said it was quarter scale. To me that means extremely big but, although it is large as you can tell by the hand, it is not one fourth of a head so I must have misheard or be misunderstanding something.

Whatever size it is John...it sure is a beautiful piece of sculpting...maximum realism for the face and a great expression..very nice indeed..!

    All the best...Roy.

I can only echo what others have said. That is one fine job of sculpting.

    Excellent!!!
I love these big busts and this is no exception.
John, will you have this ready for sale at MFCA this May?
If so, I do believe I'll be stopping by your table to visit ;)
    Great job guys,
    Craig

It is up to the boxart guy if it will be ready by then but I am not sure I will make the drive this year.

Yes, I have heard that recent batches are really bad. A lot of people that I know have been changing to TMS wax. It's a blend that was made by a rather tallented guy called Ralph Cordello, If you want more details let me know and I will shoot you a link:)

    cheers

Thats a fantastic looking bust, can't wait to see it painted. By the way, does anyone know of anyone who sells United Empires figures in the UK?
  20. JohnLea New Member

    Steve,

No dealers in the UK and I am not adding to my list of dealers. In fact I have reduced them to 3-4 world wide. This piece will be available in about 3 months.

There are two dealers in Europe:

    De Tara
    Apdo de Correos 44
    39470 Renedo de Pielagos
    Cantabria
    Spain
    tara@infonegocio.com

    and

    Offizin Honovere
    Koppelweg 16
    31275 Lehrte
    Germany
    uwe.kuester@offizin-honovere.de
