Uniform of Imperial Russian Primorskij Dragoon Regiment

    Dear Planeteers!

    A member asked me after uniform Details of dhe Russian Primorsky Dragoon Regiment - and whether this bust by Paul Blaber is ok...:

    Maybe someone else wants to paint the bust sometime - so put the information here in the forum!

    The dark strip of the "Papacha" fur cap is okay, for it was made from the back of animals that had a dark "line" in their fur!

    Here is an original image from the Russian-Japanese War of this unit Приморский драгунский полк (= Primorskij Dragunskij Polk)...:

    As you can see, the chiaroscuro transition should be made softer, not as hard painted as at the role model!


    The uniform jackets for soldiers of this unit were "tsar green," a very dark green that looked at first black...:

    The yellow pipings and shoulder boards are also ok!

    On the yellow shoulder pieces in red the kyrilic regimental monogram "DPM." should to be seen! (See drawing above!)
