    The scale is 1/16.
Horse is from miniart. Remodeled some parts of it with milliput. The dead knight/king is mostly made from metal sheet.

    Thank you guys!

I had this idea for quite some time now and after completing my latest AFV build I decided that it was time. At first... I was afraid that I would waste a perfectly good horse on a crappy idea. But it turned way better than I expected(metal armor included).

The thing that frightens me the most now, is that flag... Never free painted before and I think it will make or break it. However until then I plan to add more details on the armor. I've seen great metal engravings on real armor and I would like to include some in mine.

Looking good so far Paul, my only thought would be to add something to the back of the horse, it looks a bit bare at the moment.

    Thanks!
Hm... At first I decided to leave the horse as plain as possible, because is has a nice anatomy. But now that you pointed it out it is kind of contrasting with his master in full armor. I'll have to fix this indeed...

Thanks! You are correct. I followed your advice with the back of the horse. Will post some pictures of it soon.

And now...the base. I had a ton of pleasure making it.
The wood is bamboo, the stone cross is from fimo and the rest are small stones, sand and glue.
    Painted it using only oils.

All the skulls are castings from the one the king is using.

I'd love to get some of those skulls. Any interest in selling some?

Am I wrong in thinking there was a medieval painting similar to this? That's the first reaction I had when I saw it. My grasp of classical painting isn't very good; never took an art appreciation class while in college!

You´re right Shawn. In some paintings and engravings of medieval authors, appears skeletons, wearing armours. For example "The triumph of Death", of Bruegel
