This is the 120mm Michael Roberts figure we saw being sculpted here in the early days of PF by Gary Dombrowski. What a nice figure. Highly recommended!

The only thing I did to the figure was add the convex top to the shako. According to Gary, both types were used. I think the flat top on the figure was a good choice since the dome can be added in a matter of a few minutes, whereas if it was molded on, it would be a nightmare to remove.

You're right. This is a darn nice figure. I suppose I'll have to dig mine out now too :lol:

Holy crap Barry ! You asked me what paints I use on the RHA figure? I think it should be the other way around. I know by the way . Correct me if I'm wrong though but you used acrylics throughout? If so, that's some FABULOUS blending. Especially on the greens.

Very, very nice. Nice job throughout. I really like the flesh and green tones. The greyish pants look a little too plastic to me, but I'm sure its the picture. Or my eyes.

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment. I'm in the same boat as you at the moment - I'm trying to get more dramatic highlighting and shading. I think I end up concentrating on making the blending subtle a bit too much. Yes, it is all acrylic except for the metallics which are inks. The jacket is Jo Sonja and the rest is Vallejo. The thing I like most about acrylics is the way you have so much control over the blending when using glazes.

I know what you mean about the gray pants. I think its a combination of the paints drying just a touch semi-gloss and not getting enough contrast in my shading and highlights.

Darn! It was at the Expo. I wished I had got hooked up with you again and you showed me your display. I know what you mean about enough contrast. I will have one figure not have enough contrast then the next one will have too much. I have troubles getting it right in the middle.

Brad - I am sculpting a 54mm figure. I'm doing everything from scratch except for the musket. The problem is that I'm at a point where I feel like if I go any further on it, I'll screw it up.

Wow Barry great job! How do you get such a clean separation between the colours? I am reluctant to tackle a bright figure and tend to stick to darker uniforms whilst trying to learn new techniques. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation to get cracking!!!
