    Hello All,
Not much shows of the great amount of work just to get this far.
A casting of the weapons barrel and housing was made. This makes it easier to locate and build the rest of the tripod and gunner around it.
The idea is to have the number two feeding a fresh belt into the weapon with the gunner pulkling the tab through ready to fire.
Boots were also sculpted and cast for the crew although the captain/officer will wear boots.
The weapon will be worked into the ground to give the impression of weight. An open sandbag will rest on one of the front legs of the tripod, this hopefully will add another dimension to the scene.
I turned up an empty cartridge no more than 0.8 in dia and molded it to cast about 30 so far. These and more will be added to the ground work in a "pile"below the mg,s chamber.
There,s not much to see by the images shown but lets see how it goes.
    Comments welcome.

I am always amazed at how you sculpt to perfectly match these figures to their equipment Andy.
This piece looks to be a nightmare to model.......to me anyway. I will enjoy watching this come together.
    All the best,

Ever since I was kid and first read about "Simpson, the Man with The Donkey" in a "Look and Learn" comic, years ago, I have been fascinated with the Gallipoli campaign. Back then, as a child, I could not understand why the Australians and New Zealanders were fighting against Turks! After many years of reading and research about this campaign it all became clear!

Top marks to you, Andy, for your interpretation of these events - your figure bring this alive, I shall be watching with much interest(y)

I can definitely understand your comment about not much showing for all the initial work put into it! So true!

Looks like a great start and I'll follow along eagerly.

    All the best,
    Dan

It's all about the preperation, do it right the first time. Looking like it'll be all worth it at the finish.

    Great news
Still an original figure of the Great War.
But is it really a surprise with Andy?
    The question is:
Where Will he search his ideas?
The day he sculpts and at night he does not sleep, he must dream of his new creatures;)
