While waiting for the next part of Stu's sculpting sbs I started to play about with this mannequin bust I got a while back. So far added hair, eyebrows, moustache and a band round the head for the base of a bunnet. Have been using magic sculp for this.
Let me know what you all think.

Well I say it looks pretty darn good! The only thing I've ever sculpted/added to a figure was a mustache out of Duro, so you're way ahead of me!

Sounds and looks like a great way to get into sculpting Barrie.
For your maiden piece you are great in the hair department.
I hope that this leads to you trying a full figure or bust.
    Good luck with this venture.

Hi Keith, cheers for the vote of confidence.Like I said, it's something to practice on in between painting sessions. I am hoping to do a 120mm figure in the sculpting sbs thread that Stuart from Stormtroopers will be running. Fingers crossed.

I am sure that you will do a good job Barrie.
As you say practice practice practice. Instead of ditching that little piece of filler left over from your next figure try to make a small hand or ear etc.
It all helps. There is a shed load of help on youtube.
Good luck and just shout if you think I can help,

Hi Barrie, well done mate, starting is the hardest part, after that it just seems to work itself out as you go on. As Keith said, any help just call.
    Best wishes, Gary.

Barrie, looks pretty good so far - I would be tempted to drop the outermost parts of the eyebrows a touch, but that's just me!!

Steve, thanks and yeah you're right about the eyebrows, so I tinkered about with them. Think they look better now.
Got the diced band done also.

That looks Great Barrie...I Think that is the best way to teach yourself to start with is by converting something rather than trying to do too much and getting disheartened if it doesn't come out as expected...where did you get the mannequin mate....Kevin
