Roc Nice start. But I must let my inexperience reveal itself, why did you start painting the horse furniture before painting the horse?

Hey Cory, the right way is to paint horse first, but I always do things backwords

    Rocco,
looking good so far. I have to ask though, it seems that drill bit will leave a rather sizable hole in the bottom of the horse. Do you plan on covering it up somehow? Keep us posted!

Jay, thanks, after the horse is finished and dry, I will fill the drill hole with A + B putty and paint it to match the rest of the horse.

    Hi Roc

Well, here we are at the beginning of one long journey. This is an awesome piece and I'm looking forward to watching your progress on it. I'm particularly interested in how you will deal with all that sleeve braiding on the rider.

Thanks for sharing it with us

    Best regards

Phil, you are very welcome, sharing is my pleasure.

The painting of the rider is complete, you can find the finished rider in my work bench.

    Cheers

    Hello Roc

Yes, it occurred to me I might have missed your work on the rider already, so I've checked it out. Very nice indeed - nice tight work on that braiding (as I expected)

Must make sure I keep up with this thread!

    Thanks again

So far you are going great Roc. Your reds are nicely done... personal preference?? I would ask for more contrast.
