    They had names like Thorneycroft and Autocar. All of them were fairly small, mostly under-powered and could not carry anything close to the huge payloads we are used to carrying in modern trucks.

    Set 1 of two groups of photos of Dennis 3 ton lorries. This set is from the Great War Forum and Armchair General web sites and shows the result of a complete rebuild of a Dennis ca. 1914. The mechanical wizards that did this found a very rusty frame and some wheels and parts of a wood bed and parts of an engine. Pretty much everything else they made!
