Finished this Hussar from troop54, its a 75mm figure in a very relaxed pose. I chose to paint this one as the yellow and red look great together. Ive added an earring and sword hook on the belt and .little additions to the musket as well.

Thank you very much Graham, you could paint this as any Hussar Regiment but I saw the reference on line and did a bit more research.

Excellent Bob. The red and yellow are very striking. I particularly like the shade of yellow you have used - not too garish which is always a danger with yellow.

    Cheers Phil,
I thought the colours were perfect for Hussars, garish.
I had a bit of help from Paul (daddyO) on the highs and shades with yellow. They work perfectly.
Highlight with flesh and adding a bit of purple to the yellow for shades.

Nicely done Bob and a great choice of uniform as well. Choosing one of the Guide units is a nice departure from the usual hussar regimental colors. I very much like the red/yellow colors.

    Fabrizio,
    thank you very much, appreciated.

    Ben,
thank you, plenty of choice with the guides.

    Nap,
    Great advice from DaddyO.
High light yellow by mixing flesh with the base colour, shade is base colour with a small amount of purple, it worked.

Great job Bob. Spooky but I’ve got the same figure sat part finished on the bench and gone for the exact same unit based on a print by Leliepvre I think. I was struggling with the flamme colour on the mirliton but this will really help and spur me on to finish it. Super references.
