Torvosaurus tanneri, 1:20 resin kit, sculpted by Shane Foulkes.
    54cm long, 19cm high.
$230 + shipping from the USA + Customs import taxes.
No de-gassing holes, almost imperceptible seam-lines, all parts fit well with just a little puttying and re-sculpting needed.
Best of all - I didn´t have to close the mouth on this one!

    T. tanneri broke a tooth. Remember to look for that broken tip if you´re in Portugal!

A few of the spines or quills on the nape broke, too.
Nine were replaced with shaped tooth-picks to accentuate them.

    Half-naked and in black stockings! (= base-coated).

Do you airbrush Spike? I only ask because of the subtle blends you achieve.
    Excellent as ever,

Just started using an airbrush, Carl. All the Dinosaur models I´ve finished previous to this were painted with a mixture of dry-brushing, washes, wet-on-wet, wet-to-dry and wet-to-wet brush techniques. Krocodilus was the first model I finished with an airbrush and now I have several on the go - best way to learn is by just getting down and doing it! Airbrushing will simply be quicker than the techniques I used before, once I have learned a new form of control.
    Spike.

Looks great, Spike! I like the finish, too, and I draw encouragement from your results. I've got the Tamiya T-rex in my stash (the newer kit, not the older tail-dragger) and I'm planning to use the airbrush for her colors.

Lovely work Spike, nice to see a dinosaur for a change. I'm looking forward to seeing you finish it.
