This is a project which, for the moment, seems to have stalled, it nearly got finished but I got sidetracked and haven't gone back to it for a while.
I do intend to get it finished, one day.

It's Hobby Boss Tiger in 1/16th scale with crew figures from AFV Modeller, they're very nice castings with good detail and fit, more importantly the poses suited my needs,
Apart from Jeff Shui's excellent looking figures, there's not a huge range of German tank crew (or US tank crew) available in 1/16th (please let me know if you know any other good ones)
I would love to buy Jeff's figures but, with shipping costs from the US, they just work out to be too expensive for me.

I haven't taken any wide shots of the complete diorama (it's BIG), so what you can't see in the photos is what the crew are looking at.
The title for the peice is 'Out of Fuel and Out of Luck', in the left foreground are empty fuel barrels and jerry cans, hence the forlorn look on their faces.

I have plenty of photos of the tank without the crew, if you would like to see some of them please let me know.

I hope you like the way it's going.
All the best wishes
David

Looks great that Dave. And as an AFV dabbler myself, I for one wouldn't mind seeing more of the Tiger.

Alpine do a couple of generic Waffen SS tankers (16006 and 16028), a Michael Wittmann (16031) and a dismounted U.S. tanker (16041) all in 1/16. See here ....

Thanks for the link Steve.
I have used Alpine heads in 1/35th before, they are great but I find their 1/16th tank crew figures too static in their pose, not enough animation for my liking.

Yes Dave I know what you mean, most of their 1/16 range are a bit "standy-aroundy". Fine figures though and top quality. I suppose it all depends on what you want them for.

Here's some photos of the tank on its own, the crew must have wandered off somewhere, tired of having their photos taken maybe.

It's really not possible to see just how big this thing is from pictures but it's huge.
When I first opened the box to start the build I took out the main turret part, compared to 1/35th scale it's colossal, I must admit, I was pretty excited to get going, I didn't know it was going to take me so long to complete though.

I have a T34/76, also in 1/16th, to start one day but I don't know where I will put it once it's finished.
This one has a full interior, it won't be a weekend project will it!

Best wishes,
David
