    Hi Peeps

This is something thats been on the back burner for a while, and a friend recently said I have to get him done.

It's Think180's SF Afghanistan but modified to resemble (but not be!) the soldier identified as Cowboy on Militaryphotos.net.

I liked the idea of the turned baseball cap, so took a hornet head and sculpted a thick beard, and a baseball cap in Kneadatite.

I did away with the radio, and sculpted the pouch containing that closed, and added the pockets to the trousers.

now, do I give him sunglasses?

    Rob,
Nice work! I would go for the glasses! I think its unique in this scale and would finish off the look as far as "attitude" goes! Keep us posted.

    Nice job on the beard!!!
The figure looks great so far.
How about a pair of sunglasses on
his hat? That way, you can still show
the eyes... The face is too beautifully
    sculpted to be covered.

Rob, I agree with Taesung. sunglasses on the hat with a strap or cord going around his neck.

Nicely done, Rob! This guy has attitude in spades. The beard is especially well done. I agree with Taesung that the face is too well sculpted to cover anything up.

And of course the baseball hat needs a Red Sox emblem. :)

    All the best,
    Dan

Hi Rob , excellent choice of subject, figure, and conversion. Great job on the beard, hair and cap. Sunnys ? Absoloutly either face or cap. I'm keen to do a cowboy type figure myself but you've bet me to the draw. Keep up progress postings. and look forward to seeing him all painted up , nice work cheers Mark.

    Hi Rob,

I am new here. I have just started into figures after doing aircraft for 15 years. The only subject I am interested in right now is US Modern figures, whether it be Marines, Seals or SF. I have this figure on the way. I just wanted to say you have done a great job so far. I wish I knew how to add beards and a hat like that too my figures, as I intend to do a whole little squad of them, and don't want to have all the same looking figures.

The stuff you used for the beard and hat, what is it? Some kind of putty? Is it easy to use? Do you happen to know of any company who makes figures with beards?

I have seen some of the Hornet heads and they look great!

Well I can't wait to see more

    Thanks
    Mike

As for the beard - see your thread....

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for the help! I hope you can post more bigger pics of the beard area so I can get some sort of idea where to start when I try that with my other figures.

I see go with the sun glasses on the hat!
    Thanks
    Mike

Hey Rob...how are you getting on with this figure?....you've made some really nice additions to him...I love the beard, it looks real natural, and that baseball cap is excellent.
I'd love to see some updates... :)

    All the best...Roy.

    not well. :(

Son's Birthday - Christmas - New Year - My birthday - Friends' Wedding all mixed in with decorating the bathroom (I hate plastering and putting up mosaic tiles) has meant very little time......

    excuses...................
