Hi Pfer's,

Happy New Year. Here's start to another 1/9th bust which will be part of the Gunner's of Burma series. Being sculpted in a polymerclay mix.

A great actor who died far too young. He was born in India and was fluent in Hindi and Urdu. He served as a major in the Gurkhas and was mentioned in dispatches. The belt around his turban is from his son's school uniform (!).

Thanks for the background info Mike. Funny you mention that as it's a similar storey with my family. My father was born in Lahore (India at the time), his father being in the Royal Artillery was stationed there. My uncle (Dads eldest brother) joined the Gurkhas in the first World War, William 'Gurk' Sorby.

Can understand now why you’ve chosen of these some classic colonial stories to bring to life with your skills.
