    Dear, Planteers,
I would like to share with you a small review about a new minature "The Seller of Parrots", North Africa, I think end of 19th century, early 20th century.
This little scenery is based on a painting of the French painter José Silbert, actually Marie Joseph Jean Raymond Silbert, born on 20 January 1862 in Aix-en-Provence, died on 1 July 1936 in Marseille. He travelled repeatedly to North Africa. There he visited Tangier and lived in Algiers with the painter Étienne Dinet , who had turned to the painting of Orientalism.
Sculptor of this minature: Stepan Nikolaev
Scale: 1/24 (85 mm, high of the eyes, total size 90 mm)
Parts: 11 resin parts (4 parrots and 2 heads)
    Seller: Yuriy Dymytrashko

The cast quality is absolutely great. All details smooth and top-notch. No air bubbles , minimal mold lines. Both heads finely sculped as the other parts like the turban, sash and pistols. Great, each parrot has a different appearance and is finely detailed. A must have for every true Orientalist. Will be a lot of painting fun.

    Cheers
    Bastian

    Looks nice and different.
Someone's bound to make a 'Monty Python dead parrot' reference any time now.
