    Hi all,
I finally got around to putting the finishing touches on this bust from Historic Art/ Nocturna today. It is all acrylics and the metals are Mr Metalcolour.
I hope you enjoy my version, and all critique and feedback is most welcome.

    Thanks for looking,
    Andrew.

Jeez Andrew that looks your best yet mate. The overall tone just looks like youve nailed the period of the piece. Great metals perfect tones which the flesh and clothing match.
    Congratulations on a stunning piece.

I don't know if it's the camera but the only thing I might suggest is a wee bit black oil paint pin wash along the joins, around the rivets and recesses of the metal to give it a wee bit more depth.

Andrew: Great. I send you my address and it will be a nice christmas gift:whistle::whistle:

The colours do you have choose works together very well and you have done a great painting job. But I agree with Gellso. A black oil wash or something like that for the helmet would be helpful

The upwards glance really works, as does the subdued colour scheme.
    Superb,

Very well Andrew. I really like your somewhat muted color palette, is very realistic. Your acrylics seems oils. I must say that each time, you look more like Russian school painters.

    Nice one Andrew
The muted colour scheme does it for me every time in this period of the great unwashed and absence of soap powders

Thanks for the kind words guys, I'm glad you like my attempt.
I have been trying to do the realistic effect for a few busts now and I think this is the closest one yet. I'll put the wash on the helmet and hopefully that will finish it off nicely.
    Thanks again for the comments,
    Andrew.

Everything is so photo-real. The flesh treatment is both economical and spot-on.
