    We hear very little of miniatures from China.

    Actually,more and more figure painters are coming out in China.
    And we have some good sculptor and painter,like linjo.

    No,there are not too many figure modelers in China.But we are trying our best to make good figures to show our culture and sculpture to the world.Maybe we can expliot our new market in the near future!

    I see your point, but of course there is no standard being carried on this version, I think the expression on this version is excellent despite the lack of additions, great skin tone,etc. IMHO.

    I found the figure is a bit stiff and the face is quite asian looking.
    Besides just make good/ high quality products, most of the modelers don't neccessary go for cheap price.

    Of course the Roman army recruited far and wide, so it is quite conceivable that many ethnic types were represented.

    It's a nice sculpture and casting, and the paint job is pure artistry, but it's essentially a model of a particular modern "re-enactor" who wears a costume of dubious authenticity, not of a Roman soldier.
