    Hello Guys,
Finished this evening this little gem from Nocturna Models.
It was fun to paint something else then soldiers and knights.
Hope you like it too, and if you find the time, please leave some feedback.

    Marc.

    Hello Mark,

    I like it very much:)but,
in my opinion, you should darken a little more the hair becuase it seems very yellow.

Nice and bright, just what you need on a dull winter's day.
    Congratulations,

It almost seems that it needs some darker shadows, but I am a knight painter too and I paint dark anyway.

    Hi Marc!

Im afraid this piece doesnt come near the previous ones like the Austrian skier and the Mountain Man. Sorry to be a spoiler but I liked those much better.

    Cheers

    Thanks Janne,
I must say that you have all the right to spoil it. It is indeed not like the two you mentioned..the reason could be that my colorchoice is not what you are used to see from me.
If i look long enough to the pictures they are not very sharp....
And it is a nice figure, but not as a JMD or Pegaso what the casting goes....
    Sorry to disappoint you.;)
But i have a JMD allmost finished and that must be a cracker:eek::eek::eek:

Hi Marc, Congratulations on finishing this lovely figure. You've done a great job with the painting, but why didn't you string his lute?? Well done mate.

I did it, but couldn't not hold the right tune. These thinny gauche strings where immediately out of tune so i give up.:D
Now serious: i used 6/100 fishing line but it didn't look good.

    Hi again Marc!

I think there also is a difference in the way the colours of shadow, base and highlight relate to each other as well as the blending. Perhaps the picture doesnt to it full justice but I had some suspissions that your where testing new methods? But I do think the ones mentioned earlier are among the best you have created.

    Cheers

Janne, is it possible that i've gone "over the top "in highlighting and shading. I shaded much darker then before and highlight two tones higher then in my earlier figures.
    Could that be the reason.
Testing new methods: if you refer to that i try more high's and more shading, yes that's new for me. After talking with Stephen Malia, Ray ( to name a few) i was convinced that i must go further with shading and high, outlining etc.
Thats what i have done, and maybe to much.
    Hear from you again.

    Hoi Marc,
It's great painted but I have to agree a bit with Janne. I also find the mountain man much better. I looked several time at the pictures but for sure it's not the more highs and shades. For example I think the hair could use some more brown shades and for me also the pants. But this also depends a bit on the lighting you used for the photos. I'm not sure but I think it also has to do with the color choice. The blond hair next to the yellow straps. And the combination of yellow, green and purple. Ofcourse it isn't wrong but maybe I would have prefered blue instead of green. But this is just my personal taste. But despite the critiques it's still a very good painted figure.

    Groeten,
    Marcel.

    Marcel,
Thanks. that make's sence (wrong???). It could be indeed the yellow against the blonde hair. But in real live it doesn't look like the pictures.
I bring it with me to Eindhoven next year.

    Marc
