    I love it. The skin tones, the tatoos or drawings in his arms, the shadow of beard in his face , the bright of his black hair and the harmony in all the colors, clothes, wood etc. The scenary is very well done.
    Great work.

    Indeed, Marc is on the Mark. just a lovely presentation;
    every aspect of the project. The fence and terrain are
    as interesting as that figure. Also, lovely photographs.
    Congratulations on a beautiful piece of art.

    Mark,

    Well done, the skintones are very smmoth and the buckskins look great.

    My only critique is that the wood on the rifle too close in color to the Buckskins he is wearing. The rifle in my minds eye should be deeper and richer in color and shinier whicj would create greater contrast.

    This looks nicely painted but I was also going to say that the rifle stock is too samey with the other colours in the scene.

    Rifles and muskets of around this period were finished beautifully, with a yellowish varnish or oil coating which often imparted a characteristic colouring to the woodwork. Here are two pics of Killdeer from the movie:

    P.S. For additional colour contrast the wood in the fence could be done much greyer than this - almost all timber left exposed to rain and light for any length of time will weather to various shades of grey.

    Great job on this. The shading on the folds are superb. Really superbly painted on such a small piece.
