Oda, Nap, thank you both, I have wanted to do some of the Kaisers troops for a long time but always resisted, glad I have given in to the urge.

The wedding was brilliant thank you, an emotional day she is after all my only daughter.

Brads input is very helpful and greatfully recieved it saved me from quite a glaring error, as for the badger well the first one was better but hey ho!

    Cheers Simon

Not as much progress as hoped but it's a start. The face I am quite pleased with maybe one or two areas to refine like the tash, blond hair so blond tash but it needs more definition. Colour is a bit bleached out, probs need some filters to pop on the desk lamps. 20230919_202826.jpg

Cheers Kev, wish I could sort the lighting for my photos as they always wash the colour from the face.

Cheers Malc, not much doing today I've been stripping paint off doors not putting it on figures. She wants to decorate so why am I doing all the hard work, yeah I know quiet life and all that.

Well after stripping paint off doors today I made sure I got to sit at my desk this evening. It's been a bit frustrating as I find green to be a hard colour to paint for some reason. Anyhow, his jacket is now what I believe is a good colour, will await Brad's approval, I have also started the trousers, boots and shako.

My demon Granddaughter is here tomorrow and Sat & Sun and I get my monthly eye injection on Friday so may not get to the bench till next week, how depressing.

He is looking good. Better lighting on that picture shows his face colours more strongly.

Cheers gents, I put a slight filter on the images, nothing fancy just a warmer tone to bring out the colours. Just need to kill the sheen on the tunic a bit, well a lot really.

Been painting, won't get back to the bench much before Monday, needles in the eye and the Granddaughter sleeping over,oh well.

Done some work on the tunic or Waffenrock, pretty happy with the green mix of Vallejo Flat Green and Black Green. Shade is with added Vallejo Dark Vermillion and some targeted glazes of Army Painter Matt Black. The highlights are straight Flat Green, though both Shade and highlight need more work.

His trousers or as worn with marching boots Stiefelhosen, are Scale Colour Deep Blue with added black, same as above. Highlights are Scale Colour Deep Blue with added Vallejo Flat Blue and they also need more work.

His boots and shako are Vallejo Dark Grey with the highlights built up with layers of progressively lighter grey and shaded with AP Matt Black and some SC Deep Blue. They probably need less contrast though.

I'm fairly happy with him but would like to know if I've made any glaring errors.

Cheers gents, can't quite capture the dullness of the green police uniform that Brad suggested, like I've said before I struggle with green for some reason. As this one is turning out better than my last few green uniforms I'll live with it, still more highlights and some shading still, maybe that will help.

He is looking good Simon. I think the colour tones are about right, that green does not look easy to work up.

Cheers Rob, been thinking about it and might go for a series of tints of just the Black Green.

Cheers Steve I'm champing at the bit but we're duty grandparents all weekend, just got back from Rugby Tots with the little terror and now we're watching Peppa Pig. Oh well I'll enjoy it all the more when she's handed back to my daughter.
