I tried my first attempt at making a flat today. It's based on a comic book cover. I did it all freehand, not sure if that's the normal way or it's usually more planned out. All critique is welcome, still a ton of painting to do and some cleaning up of the edges of the figure when it sets fully.

I think you should be pretty pleased with yourself Andrew, it looks nice. I won't comment much on the sculpting other than that 'cause I've never tried it. ;)

I do like where you're going with the painting, the shadow on his forehead from the hood is very effective.

Thanks Roger, it was a quick effort. I'm reasonably happy with the face but the arms are all a bit off, they're too thick. It was fun and I think if I plan out the next one and draw it first I could do better. I learnt a few things so I'm happy with that.

Looks bloody good Andrew, you've captured a look of desperation on his face.

You have the talent to paint flats Andrew. This is really great.

Andrew very nicely done, great work on the face and hood . The next one think about using plastic rod for the arrow and string.

    Cheers Ken

    Thanks guys.
Thanks for the tip Ken, I'll have to try find some plastic rod for the next one. I wouldn't mind trying the same figure again some time.
