This are my first steps with "The Daimyo" from pilipili. The face was painted first with acrylics, then with oil. It is not ready. I have made the first shades and highlights and then I paint the hair for the first time with blueblack. I now will just finished the hair-color, then I will see, where the face must have more shades or highlights.

 I need a "babelfish" to explain what I mean.

Comments and everything else are welcome

Hey Ulrich, it's a nice start, it's not so easy as it seems to paint a bust.
Maybe more shading and blending on the hairs root and beard. Some kind of ice yellow, if you want to try it, is very effective when placing the last highlights on the face.

    Ulrich,

Great work so far. I enjoying this SBS. For myself i find a bust difficult.
But what i'm seeing from you. it is gonna be great.
    Keep us posted.
And be sure, your english is as good as mine, and that is better then my german.

    Hello Ulrich,

I think the shadows and highlights on the face well-balanced. (y)

From what I can see from the pics, your fleshtones are also very good although I'd suggest to warm them up a little bit by adding minute amounts of violet in the DEEP shadows and Naples Yellow on the EXTREME hightlights.

The blue-black hair is a good start. Looking forward to the next step.

    Cheers,
    Quang :)

    Hello everyone

It is snowing outside and so I have time to show new pics.

The face and the parts on the shoulders (I don´t know the correct expression) are ready. The violet and the blue parts were painting first time with acrylics and the blue part for the first time with oil. Today I will start with highlights and shades

I hope the bust is not so bad

    Ulrich
