Kevin,..I know how you feel, there's so many Colin's and so little time.

Tony, this is a great start mate, another wonderful piece in the making......great shame about your camera, because this work deserves so much better than these crappy Iphone pics.
Seriously, keep painting but just wait till the camera is fixed to take the pics.....we'll still be here.
Anyway great to see more of your beautiful painting regardless.......cheers and well done mate!

    Hi guys,

thanks again to you all for the wonderful comments. Here are some recent WIP pics showing my progress with the highlighting on the jacket and the canvas helmet cover and ear flaps. Next will be the addition of the helmet chin straps and the rifle, followed by some rather heavy weathering and some snow flakes.

Aside from a couple of little touch ups, the construction and painting on this bust is largely done now.

The next step will be to weather the bust with pastels and oils to create that battle weary, cold, dirty look.

The final touch will be to add a light sprinkling of snow on him.

    Final pics attached.

Used Andrea's Artificial snow to create the winter effects. The dirt streaked face was created by mixing pastels chalk with oils and streaking on with a thin brush. I really enjoyed this bust and I'm pretty happy with the finished look. I wanted to make him look cold and miserable, and he sure does.

Thanks to everyone who posted comments on this thread.
